When she first arrived in rescue, they stated that she was mixed with Jack Russell, but it could also be a lab or any other number of breeds. Lizzie weighs in at 23 pounds and is full grown. Lizzie is seeking a new home due to a change in her family's lifestyle and they are not able to give her the proper attention that she is seeking and she is acting out more (barking because of boredom). Lizzie is up to date on her vet work including her vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and current on her flea/tick/heartworm prevention. It is believed she is slightly allergic to corn as she will nibble at her feet. She is currently eating Rachael Ray Just 6 Lamb food and has no issues at all! Lizzie does very well with other dogs and enjoys running at the dog park and burning off energy! She has also been introduced to cats previously and no issues were seen. Lizzie would do best with another dog in the home who would love to play with her! Lizzie also does not care what size her playmate is as long as they are willing to play! Lizzie is kennel trained and believed to be house broken. She does still kennel overnight and has no issues with this. She also does fairly well with baths and can be very wiggly for nail trimmings, but she does let you do it if you have someone to help hold her. Lizzie knows lots of commands and is very smart! She knows how to sit, stay, Spaz (she dances), kennel up, leash/harness on, take it to the field (to get her to play away from the humans at the dog park), load up (tells her to go to the gate at dog park so we can go home), and crawl. Lizzie can be a runner and would do best with a fenced in yard or to be on a leash all of the time. She does pull a bit on the leash, but she walks wonderful with her easy walk harness. Lizzie has shown that she is not a fan of people in hats, and will bark at them and try and chase them as well. She is a bit overwhelming and excited at times, and would do better with children 5+ years, however with more training, she would likely do just fine with younger ones as well! Lizzie loves to enjoy the outdoors and will even take a swim to chase the ducks! She also loves to nap in the sun, chew on rawhides, or snack on a peanut butter filled kong toy. She is a spectacular dog with energy and intelligence who is searching for the perfect family to call her own!
