Ebony is approximately 2-3 years old and believed to be a White Shepherd Mix. We believe she may be mixed with Great Pyranees or even possibly some Husky. We've even heard from another Akbash owner that Ebony looks like his dog! Ebony was originally rescued from Lake Traverse Reservation. She was adopted once but returned due to the family unwilling to dedicate the time and attention she deserves. Ebony is fully up to date on her vet work including all vaccinations, heart worm tested negative, spayed, microchipped and she is also current on her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Ebony is currently around other dogs and she very well. She does get playful and she loves to talk when she plays. She does well with all sizes and enjoys running off energy at the dog park or the fenced back yard. Ebony has also been around cats and has no issues with them at all. Ebony can be a bit shy and timid when you first meet her, but she warms up very quickly and she loves to receive attention! Ebony does wonderful with all ages of people and is respectful and very well behaved around everyone! She will run and play with you if you encourage her or if you sit she will sit and be close to you. Ebony had lived a majority of her life outside but she LOVES the joys of being a beloved family member in her foster home! She is an amazing house dog and so well behaved! She is kennel trained, however, she never has an accident and she rarely stays in the kennel at all. She is not destructive and is very calm and laid back in the home! Ebony is working on her basic commands and leash walking skills. She does pull on the leash, but she does slow down and walk nicely with a little time and encouragement to walk nice. Ebony is very timid and scared of loud noises such as thunder, gunshots, or fireworks, but if you simply let her find a safe place to hide inside, she will lie down and just hang out -- she is not hard to manage and simply needs to feel safe. Ebony would do best with a family willing to take the time to know her and patience to teach her what it's like to be part of the family. She thrives on people attention and would be a great canidate for the Canine Good Citizenship Award! She's ready to find that perfect family!!!
